Solar Works Honored for Second Consecutive Year as “Best for Environment”

September 12, 2017

Today, Solar Works was recognized for the second year in a row for being among companies creating the most positive environmental impact based on an independent, comprehensive assessment administered by the nonprofit B Lab. Honorees are featured on B the Change, the digital  publication produced by B Lab.

Solar Works is honored in the Best for the Environment list, which includes businesses that earned an Environment score in the top 10 percent of more than 2,100 Certified B Corporations on the B Impact Assessment. The 180 Best for Environment companies come from 66 different industries and 24 countries, unified by one common goal: to redefine success in business.

Solar Works made the list thanks to exceptional practices like partnering with local non-profit organizations to help stimulate donations and increase the use of renewable energy in our extended community; providing information, education and opportunities for local activism to address climate change; and designing and installing high quality solar electric systems.

“As the first – and only – solar B Corp in our region, the second solar B Corp in California, and the first Benefit Corporation in California, Solar Works is committed to doing our part in the growing movement to use business as a force for good,” states Solar Works Vice President Laura Goldman. “We’re proud to be a B Corp, and appreciate the excellent company we keep in the B Corp national and international community.”

Solar Works has been in business since before solar was considered an industry, and our values and practices have made it possible to thrive in politically and economically uncertain and volatile times. Our B Corp certification and multiple re-certifications underscore the importance of how we do business. Our mission is to work hard, treat people well, respect Mother Earth, and build relationships that are fueled by the power to make a positive difference.
