What kind of solar battery systems are on the market?

There are two kinds of solar battery systems: AC-coupled and DC-coupled. AC-coupled systems are connected on the AC side and do not require an external inverter. This is a good option for adding a battery to an existing PV system. DC-coupled systems connect to the solar inverter on the DC side and work well when designed to be installed with the solar.
